Letter dated January 20, 2010
Pondering over Alma 37: 36-37 ..... prayer, prayer, prayer- the power of prayer! As you counsel with the Lord in all things and involve Heaven in your life we are given the promise that we shall be "lifted up at the last day". Don't ever forget the power of prayer and the crucial part that the Lord plays in each of our lives. He know the plan for each of us perfectly- much better than we do- and is waiting to give us His instruction if we but only desire and seek out His counsel. Listen. Listen. Seek. Listen.
This week's miracle: After a few weeks of countless prayers and seeking for the Lord's help to guide us to His elect, we were finding it very rare that we would come across many Hispanics. We knew they were hiding somewhere and the Lord knew where. We exercised our faith and decided that we were going to open our mouths and share the gospel with EVERYONE, not just seeking for Hispanics..... and we knew that as we did so, the Lord would bless us with our Hispanic friends to teach. Exercise faith, be patient, and the Lord will bless you abundantly. Well, we received a referral from one of our members--- long story made short- when we were entering into the trailer to teach this one woman, she had two other friends with her. As we began to teach and all throughout the lesson, more and more people began to enter the trailer and listen intently. Needless to say, at the end of that lesson, we had 9 new investigators! Also, we found a trailer park packed full of our Hispanic amigos! :) The Lord is amazing! He lets you pass through trials as an exercise of your faith, and if you endure it well, He will bless you abundantly. Isn't His plan perfect?! I love Him!
I love you all dearly and am so happy to be out here in the Lord's field- harvesting and reaping- enjoying and cherishing every moment. Do the same. Please, help the missionaries in your area and do all that you can to fulfill your role as a member missionary! You will be greatly blessed!
